My career in the demolition industry has spanned over four decades, with environmental issues taking centre stage in more recent years. Once a demolition business owner myself, I have always been eager to make a positive impact in the sector.
My biggest accomplishment was being appointed as the CEO of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) in 2003.
This opportunity gave me the platform to drive real change in health and safety standards and environmental awareness across the demolition sector. Throughout my many roles within the NFDC and the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG), my role has been instrumental in achieving industry health and safety and sustainability goals.
Having recently retired as CEO from the NFDC, I am eager to continue to share my knowledge and skills in a consultancy capacity.
I am proud to work closely with the BRE (Building Research Establishment) and provide consultant support to the ASBP (The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products) and the Reusefully partnership.
I hold hold myself accountable to the highest regard and continue my professional development through the following organisations: FIDE - Fellow of the IDE, Fellow of the CIWM, CEnv of the Society for the Environment.
My long term career within the demolition sector, has provided me with a welcome platform to drive change. Here are some of my biggest achievements:
I am proud to have a long history within the demolition industry and wider construction sector, serving as President to the following organisations: The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC), The Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE) and the European Demolition Association (EDA).
